Youth Led Development Towards Success
of the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goals
The Annual, Global Event Focusing on Idea Leadership
The Youth Assemblyis an annual gathering of hundreds of young people from around the world who seek practical ways to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, global networking and social entrepreneurship skills as well as meeting with and contributing to civil society formally affiliated with the United Nations.
The Youth Assembly is about showing how one person can make a difference by engaging with the challenges of the present and being an educated and active citizen.
The Assembly has grown to become a major gathering of young people as well as specialized, keynote speakers and workshop leaders at the United Nations. Each year, it provides avenues for students and young professionals (16-24 years old) to learn about and become involved with programs that address global and local issues, network among a large international group in attendance, and become engaged and empowered to take leadership roles in their communities.

- Related Leadership Seminars focused on training youth to design their own projects on the Millennium Development Goals
- Special events include the Youth Achievement Recognition Luncheon, Campaign Night, Culture Night, and the United Cultures of Peace (UC Peace) Arts festival.
The goals of the Annual Youth Assembly are:
- Provide access to and information about the work, successes and current challenges of the United Nations;
- Promote increased youth participation in UN programs, its agencies and NGO affiliates
- Strengthen commitment to the achievement of theMillennium Development Goals;
- Connect committed youth with opportunities, mentors, colleagues, and new associates;
- Recognize the artistic and diplomatic efforts of young people already involved in development and humanitarian initiatives;
- Promote renewal of a commitment to serve and respect this most important international institution

Eligibility: Who Should Apply?
- Anyone, between the ages of 16-25, who is seeking information on ways to contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, networking with global youth leaders, practical information on NGO development and skills of social entrepreneurship in support of ‘better world’ activities.
- Applicants age 16-18 are welcome with chaperone.
- Youth Achievement Awardees are encouraged to participate and must be accompanied by a teacher or a parent chaperone.
- Applicants older than 25 are welcome to attend as observers. The applicable fees and application procedures are the same as for any delegate; please use our on-line application system to apply.
All delegates are invited to participatein the Leadership Seminar preceding the Youth Assembly.
