60 Second Film Competition
Poverty in Europe
15 to 30 year olds have 60 seconds to make a film entitled "Imagine a life of poverty – can you picture a way out?". The European People’s Party and its Group in the Committee of the Regions believes that it is important to give you the chance to show us what you think about the European Union and its policies. Nearly 80 million people – or 16% of the EU population – are living below the poverty line today and facing serious obstacles in accessing employment, education, housing, social and financial services, particularly in urban areas. Deadline for submitting your entries is July 15th, 2010
During the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion and at a time of financial and economic crisis, the EPP is keen to hear ideas about how to stop poverty from young adults given that you are at a stage in your life where uncertainty and vulnerability is everywhere.
By entering our one-minute film competition you will have the chance to see your work published on our specially designed YouTube page and be part of a collection of films on a specially produced DVD for the world to see. You could even win a prize and a trip to Brussels in October to see your film on the big screen.
How to enter?
- Write, film and edit your 1 minute film showing what can be done to help stop poverty
- Complete the registration form and upload your film
- Share your film through our YouTube page and invite your friends to comment and rate your video
The closing date is 15th July 2010 so get out there and be creative!
